There was a lot of potential here, but the constant and excessive overanalyzing felt like I was reading their therapy sessions. One person spiralling like that might be something I could overlook, but three people doing it? I found myself skipping vast passages of "should we or shouldn't we" and "what do you think? no, what do YOU think?" which left only the sex scenes. And while those were hot, I didn't really LIKE these people despite being so deep into their heads that they were giving ME anxiety. Tack on a timeline of, what? Two years by the halfway point? And I was just done. While I appreciate everyone talking to get on the same page, there comes a point when it gets preachy or just exhausting to keep reading the same concerns over and over again. I also have to mention this seriously odd cover. Most MMF covers convey the erotic romance you'll find inside that shows two men and a woman in a steamy embrace. This cover makes me think of a sweet NA novel about a girl finding herself on the water. I almost didn't buy the book because the cover is so misleading - of course, now I wish I'd gone with that first instinct. THREE SHOTS by Brigham Vaughn is the first book in a new series that takes place in the small-ish town of Pendleton Bay.I liked everything about this story:1. The build up to the new series is strong2. Each character stands on his/her own and stands even stronger in the throuple3. The time jumps make perfect sense and allowed the story forward momentum in a smart way4. The schmexy times are most closed door or fade to black. Sex wasn't used as a word filler5.
