I enjoyed Grayson's book and I really liked Jack's story but I loved Mason' the best.The beginning, with them hating each other, was funny and maybe just a bit overdone but necessary for the story. It really is an example of people misjudging each other based on limited knowledge of the other.The sex is hot. Mason, the self-proclaimed black sheep and bad boy brother in the Bancroft family, has many layers and those outer layers hide a kind, loving and very passionate man. He is the kind of guy who doesn't know what he needs or wants until it slaps him in the face in the form of Adelaide. He sees her as a spoiled princess and she sees him as a trust fund slacker with no goals in life. They couldn't be more incorrect about each other.There is a lot of passion between these 2 characters. I loved that Adelaide wasn't shy about initiating sex. They both realize, almost too late, that they have problems communicating their feelings but then neither of them have ever been good at it before. I loved that Mason went all protective caveman and stood up to his family about Adelaide. Them working together to redo her coffee shop is sweet as Mason finally sees what he is good at.Mason is an all-or-nothing guy. That's how he lives life. He just needed to tone it down a bit with Adelaide. I loved how his motorcycles gave him the freedom he needed and how he introduced that to Adelaide with her first ride on the back of his.The last chapter of the book was wonderful. I loved playful Mason.My only regret with this book is I would love an Epilogue. I want to know what happens when Mason finally gets down on one knee? I wanted to read the romance he would put into that act. What happens with the coffee shop? Does Mason get those million kids? How does the Bancroft family dynamics work with Adelaide in the mix? I wanted to read about her forming a bond with Hannah and Natasha. Adelaide craves a big family that will welcome her with open arms - something she has never had.Mason's story is one of my favorite for this year. I loved My First Love Affair so much that after reading it on KU I returned the book and then bought it so I can read it again and again. I would give it 10 stars. The concept of this story (and the cover!) are what drew me in—Enemies to lovers, who aren't as different as they may seem on the surface. The H Mason is a real enigma—a wealthy but rebellious rough-around-the-edges motorcyclist who enjoys luxury. He's always been misunderstood by his family which drove a wedge between them and gave rise to his acrimonious personality. The h Adelaide is ambitious and trying to honor her dead father by building a successful business. Due to overwork, responsibility and financial strain, she also has a prickly personality and is quick to anger. But they both are good people underneath who need to feel loved, and they make their way to each other after a roller coaster journey.Sounds good huh? But there are problems. It's very long for a romance novel. Some ideas are underdeveloped and some are overworked. There's a lot of redundancy. And I only 'sort of' cared about these characters. I was told and shown they have chemistry but I didn't FEEL it, despite numerous sex scenes.SPOILERS……I think this story needed an epilogue. I was left with a lot of questions at the end of this book. For instance, what happened to Adelaide's mom and what were the details of her dad's death? I needed to know that. And was the coffee shop ultimately a success? And there was tons of time spent on how bad Mason's family relationships were, but really no time spent showing us how the relationships with Mason's mom and brothers improved and evolved. And did Mason ever ride a bike again? Did he get Adelaide on the bike again? It was really good for her, it freed her up. It would be an awesome metaphor for choosing happiness despite the risks.I read this book as a standalone. It is fully complete and you won't be lost if you read it that way. For me it was just OK, but you may like it, a lot of people did, so I leave that decision up to you.
